Gone but not forgotten. Your spirit will always live with us
Phuong/Phuoc “Jason” Thanh Tran, age 30, passed away on July 28th, 2020. Jason was born on October 1, 1989, in Fort Worth, TX to Son Thanh Tran and Kim-Dung Thi Tran. He was baptized in the Catholic faith and given the saint name Joseph. Jason graduated from J. Frank Dobie High School in June 2008 and was awarded Physics Student of the Year.
Jason loved his family and relatives and would try to help in any way he could. He struggled with mental illness starting from a young age; however, despite his difficult journey, Jason turned to God in 2018 and devoted his life to becoming deeply spiritual, reading the bible and referring to scripture during difficult moments. One of his favorite scriptures was 2 Corinthians:
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 5 For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ. 6 If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. 7 And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.
